Pool crete day is one of those steps that does not get a lot of attention - but it absolutely should. This is where we pour and trowel a smooth concrete base inside the pool shell, giving the vinyl liner a solid, even surface to rest against. Get this step wrong and you pay for it later. Get it right and your liner fits tight, looks clean, and holds up for years.

Here is what we were working with - a steel wall pool shell fully set and ready for the crete. Our crew was down in the basin working the mix across the floor, smoothing it out so there are no voids, no high spots, no rough patches. That kind of hands-on detail work is not something you can rush. The quality of the finish at this stage directly affects how the liner sits and how the pool looks once it is full of water.

What makes a day like this even better is when multiple trades are moving at the same time. While the crete work was happening in the basin, the electrician was on site knocking out his portion of the rough-in. That kind of coordination keeps the job on pace without cutting corners - and it is something we take seriously on every build.

Every inground pool we build goes through this same process. The crete base is not optional or a shortcut - it is part of doing the job right. Steel walls, proper concrete, quality liner. That is the foundation of a pool built to last.

Spring is the time when most backyard pool builds start picking up momentum. If you have been thinking about pulling the trigger on an inground pool, this is what the early stages of that process look like. We build custom concrete and shotcrete pools, and we do the work the right way from the ground up.
