This is dig number one, and it's nearly wrapped up. What started as a flat backyard lawn is now a precisely cut pool excavation - clean walls, defined corners, and a footprint ready for the next phase of the build.

Pool excavation in a residential backyard is more than just moving dirt. You're working around existing structures, fencing, landscaping, and utilities - all while keeping the surrounding yard intact. That takes equipment control and a crew that knows what they're doing. Getting the dig wrong at this stage creates expensive problems down the line.

We take site preparation seriously because it sets the tone for everything that follows. The pool shell, the plumbing rough-in, the decking - none of it goes right if the excavation isn't done with precision from day one. This is where a quality pool build either starts strong or starts behind.

The existing patio and gazebo are staying in place, which means tight maneuvering and careful planning from the start. Protecting what's already there while opening up the ground for something new - that's the job. And yeah, it was a great day to dig.

Stay tuned - we'll be posting the finished product once this one is complete. If you've been thinking about adding a pool to your yard, this is what the beginning of that process looks like.
