Every pool starts the same way - with a big dig. Before the water, the tile, the coping, or the lounge chairs, there's just dirt and a plan. That's exactly where we are on this one, and it's already shaping up to be a serious backyard upgrade.
The excavation is done and the steel wall panels are in place along the shallow end. Getting the walls set early in the process is a big deal - it locks in the shape and gives us the structural reference point for everything that follows. The plumbing rough-in is already running through the site too, so we're moving fast and staying ahead of the next phases.
This is a large, open lot with a ton of potential. The homeowners wanted plenty of room to spread out - not just a pool to swim laps in, but a space to actually live in during the summer. That vision starts with site prep done right. Proper grading, accurate layout, and clean excavation all matter more than most people realize. Cut a corner here and you'll feel it later.
Site preparation is one of those phases that doesn't get a lot of attention, but it sets the tone for the entire build. Getting the depth, the slope, and the footprint dialed in from day one means every trade that comes after us has a clean, solid foundation to work from. That's how you end up with a finished pool that looks and functions exactly the way it was designed to.
We'll keep sharing updates as this one progresses. There's a lot more to come on this build, and it's going to be worth watching.
